What about the teachers that teach kids with special needs or students that are level 1? How can that bill be looked at as fair when the students mostly will not perform like the gifted kids. Should my pay be reduced or not increased?
I feel that this will increase the act of dishonesty amongst teachers when they are force to ensure that kids perform in order to see a merit increase. This is not the way for all. Maybe if it is shown how kids have improved and not just perhaps past standardized test.
I agree, SM. The cheating and dishonesty will be running rampant if the General Assembly passes that bill. Too many variables beyond teachers' control.
